Yes it is a genuine, Queensland Rail, 70ft-long train carriage.
Getting it here and setting it up has a story all of its own. It came from Cairns and had to be transported up onto the tablelands via the Palmerston highway on a special articulated low-loader truck. Why the Palmerston? It has less sharp turns than the other mountain-pass highways. Ask Shane and Helen about it.
This train carriage is beautifully appointed with fine furniture and beds for 6 people. And a fully-resourced kitchen and small lounge area. There is a shaded outdoor setting for relaxing outside.
The Michelangelo-styled clouds painted on the ceiling are soon to be turned into sheep Shane says. “Will make sleeping easier!”
Outside under cover is a comfortable outdoor setting.
