We offer a dinner menu, just perfect for after a busy day of exploring. Relax in the gardens or conference around our big tables undercover.
Food
We have two set menus for dinner:
- Seafood pack ($25/person) – includes battered saltwater barramundi + crumbed calamari + prawns + salad + bread roll and potato + dessert (cake and icecream).
- BBQ pack ($25/person) – includes steak + sausage + home-made rissoles + salad + bread roll and potato + dessert (cake and icecream).
You can decide to take these packs with you and prepare yourself or Helen will prepare for you.
Or you can bring your own supplies. There are no grocery stores or pubs in Petford so we advise bringing your own food and drinks and use the many kitchen facilities we have here. There are supermarkets in Mareeba and Dimbulah and a general store in Chillagoe.
All of the accommodations have their own fully-resourced kitchen facilities. The camping grounds have their own, dedicated open kitchen area with multiple bbqs.
Relax
There is a large undercover common area attached to the side of the school house with tables and chairs that can cater for 32 people plus 4 stools at a curved bench – perfect for kids. Underneath the old school is a kitchen with fridges and microwaves, and an entertainment area with lounges and a TV with a huge DVD collection (great for keeping the kids entertained).
